Stroke Prevention Center News & Events
In keeping with our mission, the Stroke Prevention Center will host annual events to promote healthy lifestyles – for both stroke prevention as well as better recoveries after stroke. We hope these events will provide education and motivation for stroke survivors and their families, as well as aiding our cause.
Your participation and support are greatly appreciated!
May is National Stroke Awareness Month
Did you know Missouri ranks 4th in the United States for number of strokes? Or that 80% of all strokes are preventable?
Stroke has touched many of our lives; whether you’re a survivor, family or friend of a stroke victim, or a caregiver, you’ll want to join us at the 2014 Focus on Stroke Wellness Fair.
The BJC SMART Team (Stroke Management and Rehabilitation Team) will provide free stroke assessments. Representatives from Washington University, the Rehab Institute, Paraquad, the “Y” and many more will offer information and resources for pediactric stroke, home health care, fitness programs and staying active after stroke.

Kathy Howard–Stroke Prevention Center receives the 2013 Missouri Rehabilitation Association Community Service Award
